Zipping To A Great Adventure In Greensboro NC

Zipping To A Great Adventure In Greensboro NC

My youngest son and I went to visit Kersey Valley Ziplines a couple of days ago.  I was thrilled to find so much to do there.  As one can see on Kersey Valley’s website they have a lot of things to do.  They of course have more then a few ziplines.  As a matter of fact the complex spans 55 Acres and with over a mile and a half of cable stretching around the complex they have one of the largest zipline facilities in the world.   Kersey Valley Ziplines in High Point NC

It is one of the safest attractions that I have ever experienced also.  I was very impressed at the attention to detail on safety.  After getting our harnesses on we were giving a brief but, entertaining video on safety at the “Flight School”.Flight School about to start   We then met our Flight Captains.  There are two Flight Captains with each group.  The first captain would go across on the zipline to receive us and one would stay in the rear to send us off one at a time.  I am already planning our return trip.

Kersey Valley is also the proud owners for the last couple decades Spooky Woods a Halloween Spooktacular Adventure.  The Corn Maize is a popular fall attraction also.  Then the newest attraction that is really doing well is Kersey Valley Laser Tag outdoor arena.   Believe me my sons are already planning our next trips.  One for Lazer Tag, one for the Ziplines, and the next for a surprise that I heard is possibly coming in the spring Off Road Segeway tours.

Happy Fourth of July From the Kirkwood Parade in Greensboro, NC

Happy Fourth of July From the Kirkwood Parade in Greensboro, NC

Every year on the fourth of July the Kirkwood neighborhood here in Greensboro, NC.  It is a fun time to be had by all.  Made up of the families and friends that live in the wonderful little bedroom community that is Kirkwood this parade embodies to me all that America is.  While I live just a couple streets over in Irving Park one of my many past clients invited my wife and I over for a little get together and to watch the Parade from their front yard.  You see if you drive down the main streets of Kirkwood one common theme you may notice are the adirondack chairs in just about every yard.  It is common in the many warm months we have here in Greensboro, North Carolina to see families out in the front yard conversing and waving to each other as they walk by.   It is not uncommon anytime of the day to see someone walking their dog or maybe pushing a baby stroller and it just gives one the sense of warmth and it just feels like home.  I have a number of home buyers that come to me and they have one main criteria that absolutely must be met “the home HAS to be in Kirkwood“.

Well enough of that here are some pictures from todays festivities.  Hope you enjoy them half as much as I did being there and taking them.

Greensboro’s Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway

Greensboro’s Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway

Greensboro, North Carolina has one of the largest collections of greenways, hiking paths, and bike lanes in the southeast.  We are still adding even more all the time with plans for so much more.

The Atlantic & Yadkin Greenway is a asphalt paved greenway that follows the old railway of the old Atlantic & Yadkin Railroad.  The original path ran from Mt Airy, NC (the home of Andy Griffith) to Sanford, NC.  I went on a ride today and went from the present end near downtown Greensboro all the way to Summerfield.   It was a beautiful ride on tree lined paved trails.  I rode for a full hour in basically a straight line.  There are of course intersecting trails hiking and biking all down the greenway.  As you can see by the map the greenway joins together several park systems and make for an excellent bike ride for those that do not like to ride on the bike lanes on the roadways.
